Microsoft’s New Copilot App Sparks Controversy

Ana sayfa / AI

Microsoft has begun rolling out the new Copilot app it introduced at this year’s Build event to some Windows 11 users. However, the app is said to be too similar to ChatGPT by some users.

Copilot, Microsoft’s Copilot app for Windows 11, is now a full-screen app, whereas in previous versions it was a side panel. This change allows users to use Copilot in a more flexible way. However, some testers argue that the design of the new app is too similar to ChatGPT.

In the new Copilot app, features such as the display of previous chats on the left side have caught the attention of users. According to Windows Latest’s report, these similarities are related to Copilot’s overall usage. Other than the chat bar in the middle of the app and a slightly more colorful design, there are no major differences between the two apps.

We can’t completely blame Microsoft for this. Because many ChatGPT alternatives adopt a familiar layout, making it easier for users to adapt to new applications. Just as social media apps offer similar user interfaces, AI-powered chat apps have adopted a similar approach.

Samsung Galaxy Ring price revealed

Galaxy Ring, Samsung's new smart ring announced this year, is now on the agenda with its price. Will it be more expensive than smartwatches?

It is stated that Microsoft may make the design more original during the development process of Copilot. The app is currently being tested in the Windows Insider program and design changes may be made before the public release. If you want to try the new Copilot app, you need to join the Windows Insider testing program.

It’s important to note that test versions should not be run on your main PC and are prone to problems. There is also a possibility that a feature in the testing process will not be included in the final version of Windows 11.
